Sponsoring your family is straightforward when the file is prepared correctly — and expensive when it isn't. This is the checklist we run for every family visa client.
The general threshold is AED 4,000 monthly salary, or AED 3,000 plus employer-provided accommodation. Both employees and investors/partners can sponsor; investors demonstrate income through the company. Parent sponsorship carries a higher threshold, a deposit, and normally requires sponsoring both parents together.
Attested marriage certificate (for a spouse) and attested birth certificates (for children) — attested in the home country, by the UAE embassy there, and by MOFA in the UAE. Unattested or partially attested certificates are the number-one rejection cause. Add the sponsor's passport/visa/EID, salary certificate or labour contract, attested tenancy (Sharjah) or Ejari (Dubai), photos, and health insurance per dependent.
Eligibility check → attestation (if pending) → entry permit application → status change (if the family member is inside the UAE) → medical fitness (18+) → Emirates ID biometrics → insurance → residence stamping. With attested documents ready, the chain typically completes in 5–10 working days.
Track every dependent's visa and Emirates ID expiry — renewals involve medical (18+), insurance renewal and stamping again. We record expiry dates for our clients and start renewals before deadlines.
Only if your employer provides accommodation (AED 3,000 + accommodation rule). Otherwise the AED 4,000 threshold applies.
